Year 2 marks the end of Key Stage 1 and children should have a sound grasp of the basics in reading, writing and mathematics by the time they move on to Key Stage 2. Children will continue to learn phonics up to Phase 6 and develop a firm understanding of ‘the nuts and bolts’ of English spelling and grammar. They will continue to learn through exciting and inspiring cross-curricular topics such as Rainforests and The Great Fire of London.
