Computing
As a subject, Computing draws links with many other areas of the National Curriculum and it is important that it is used both in isolation and in cross-curricular ways to embed and secure skills within pupils.
We use PurpleMash to deliver Our Computing curriculum. The core of our curriculum is split into three key strands:
- Computer Science
- Digital Literacy
- Information Technology
Information Technology, Digital Literacy and Computer Science prepares pupils to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly reliant and enhanced by access to varied and developing technology.
Our vision is for all teachers and learners in our school to become confident users of a broad range of IT so that they can develop the skills, knowledge and understanding which enable them to use appropriate computing resources effectively as powerful tools for teaching and learning.
See our Computing Curriculum (Topic) Overview and Computing Subject Skills Progression to see how our curriculum is organised and skill development.
