K’nex Challenge - Year 5 and Year 6
On Wednesday, Year 5 and Year 6 were immersed in the world of mechanical engineering and technology when they took part in the K’nex Challenge 2025. Working in small groups, they were challenged to use their design and construction skills to create a functioning model.

The theme was 'Fairgrounds', which gave the children great scope to use their imagination and creativity. They had to think about the construction materials available, work on practicality and find solutions to any obstacles they encountered. When the models were completed, the children presented them to the class, explaining any problems they had experienced and how their fairground ride worked. Both year groups came up with some remarkable ideas that demonstrated how well they had worked collaboratively. Our engineer, Georgina, was thoroughly impressed with their confidence, communication and teamwork.
