Reception - People who help us
As part of their ‘People Who Help Us’ topic, Reception welcomed two special visitors this week. On Monday Kate, a dental nurse from Bupa Knebworth, came to teach the children how to brush their teeth properly. She also helped the children to think about which foods are good or bad for their teeth, reminding them that ideally they should have no more than 5 cubes of sugar a day. A can of coke has 10 cubes and a small fruit yoghurt can have as many as 9.

Today PCSO Leon and PC Paul also popped into Reception to help the children learn about the role of a Police officer. They showed the children their handcuffs, hats, radios and even a police car!
They reminded the children that their main job is to keep people safe and they helped the children to think about how to keep themselves safe too.
