Splash! Welcome Worship
In our welcome worship today we shared the story of Claire, who wasn’t sure about dipping her toe into a new challenge of swimming. Once she did build up the courage to dive in, she loved it and after much practice, she became a Paralympic gold medallist.
We thought about how we can sometimes be nervous to start new things and how we can be supported by those around us and learn that whatever we can’t do today, we can conquer in time and with hard work.
We talked about the Olympics and Paralympics and about the author of the book, Claire Cashmore who wrote the story about her life. We wondered if one of us might write a book one day about what we have achieved when we have tried new things and worked hard.
Maths lessons this week across the school, will be continuing that theme of “having a go” and knowing that everyone can be successful. Teachers have carefully planned elements of “Inspirational Maths” to build positivity around maths and linking to our work on growth mindset.
