The Gingerbread Man - Reception

The children in Reception have been busy undertaking lots of learning activities related to the story  ’The  Gingerbread Man’ and even making their very own gingerbread men. They enjoyed investigating the dry ingredients, paying close attention to how the ginger smelled. They then followed the picture recipe as they counted out the correct number of teaspoons/ tablespoons of each ingredient to make the dough. Each child then used a rolling pin to roll out their dough and cut out their own biscuit before Mrs De Paula cooked them.  She was under strict instructions from the children to keep watching the oven in case the biscuits escaped! Luckily they didn't and the children then very much enjoyed eating them just like the sly fox in the story!
