Year 3 - Verulamium Museum

On Monday, Class 3 had a wonderful time visiting the Verulamium Museum, Mosaic and Hypocaust. As part of the day, they took part in a Roman artefacts workshop, where they got to experience shopping in a Roman marketplace.  Some of the items were easily recognisable, but some they had never seen before, like the strigil.  

Imagine having to scrape the dirt off your skin using one of these and some olive oil!

Class 3 had a lovely day and really got to delve into what it was like to be a Roman!  Mrs Cox, Mrs Durham and Mrs Blair were so impressed by the enthusiasm and excellent behaviour of the children during the day, which was a fabulous learning experience for the children.  Thank you to the PTA for assisting with the coach fees.
